Making a Sword and Board[]

A sword and board excels at melee combat and drawing the attentions of the enemy by being a threat so as to keep other party members alive.

Abilities: Strength drives the main ability of this class. Dexterity is not generally as useful because of the heavy armor that a sword and board is inclined to use. Constitution grants extra hit points. Mental ability scores have standard importance as with almost all characters but nothing beyond that for a sword and board.

Races: Any race may become a sword and board but those who are strong and prefer heavier armor (such as orcs and half-orcs) are particularly likely to become a sword and board.

Alignment: Any.
