Skylla, Evil Magic-User, is a character in the LJN toyline.
About[]
Skylla is a character created for the 1983 LJN toyline, but who didn't get a proper 3.75 inch action figure until the NECA 2022 SDCC Lost Wave set. Skylla originally got an LJN miniature figure, but not a full size articulated figure.
Skylla was one of 3 similar evil lady wizards appearing in the Marvel Books coloring books that helped build the merchandise line, along with Raven and Helayne. The other two also didn't get action figures.
LJN Bio[]
While wizards are the most powerful of magic users, the female must be considered even more special. In a world where every hand is turned against her she has risen in a field that is difficult indeed. Able to cast magical spells of awesome power, she will go to any lengths to win her private battles. Often this type of person can be counted on to use magical devices of great power. Glowing slaves. Rings, and amulets are constantly found in the possession of such a person much to the horror of her enemies.
The Shady Dragon Inn Bio[]
SKYLLA Evil Magic-User has silvery dark hair, stands 5'10", weighs 131 lbs., and has flashing dark eyes. She favors gray clothing, although she always wears her golden demon headdress and her golden demon girdle. SKYLLA carries a magical staff, a staff of commanding. Once she was a student of RINGLERUN's but when she was exposed to the Heartstone, she began to seek out the evil, harmful side of magic. Her lust for power grew until she broke away from the good magician, seeking personal gain and power. Because the Heartstone did not affect RINGLERUN, she has grown to hate him for what she feels is his "soft and stupid" use of magic.
Charmay[]
The Wild Beyond the Witchlight - A Feywild Adventure declares that Charmay is just an alter ego for Skylla. This was probably inspired by the inclusion of an illustration of Charmay in the Quest for the Heartstone adventure instead of an illustration of Skylla.
But in their [[The_Shady_Dragon_Inn|Shady Dragon bios], the Heartstone, from the adventure module, Quest for the Heartstone, turned both Skylla and Kelek evil. Yet we see Charmay and an evil Kelek on opposing sides in the The Treasure of Time storybook.
Charmay is clearly Good in the coloring/story books. But does not exist as a solo character in the new media/merchandise.
The Shrinky Dinks illustration was obviously the intended illustration for Quest for the Heartstone instead of the Charmay illustration.
League of Malevolence[]
Skylla, along with Kelek, Warduke, Zarak and Zargash, formed a group of villains called the League of Malevolence in modern D&D media and merchandise. Starting with The Wild Beyond the Witchlight - A Feywild Adventure, and then continuing with the Icons of the Realms miniatures, the Idle Champions game, and the cover to the 2024 version of the Dungeon Master's Guide.
