LJN - Advanced Dungeons and Dragons - Raging Roper - package loose 3

The Raging Roper is a Dungeons & Dragons monster.

About[]

The Raging Roper, or Roper in most instances, got a Bendable Monster figure in the LJN toyline and then appeared in the Quest for the Heartstone module. Decades later several Ropers were used in an issue of the IDW Saturday Morning Adventures comics series.

LJN Bio[]

The Roper lives in underground caves and dungeons, where it is greatly feared. The roper stands upright to look like a pillar, or flattens into a hump to trap unsuspecting adventures, who go into the dungeon and search of treasure.

Description[]

The roper resembles a stony conical structure, often mistaken for a stalagmite. When creatures come near, it opens its single eye and sharp-toothed maw, and extrudes numerous ropy tentacles that lash out to capture prey.

The ropers described here are ones which dwell in caves and other such underground environments. Some varieties also dwell above ground, while another, known as the coral roper, dwells in the ocean. Another variation, the storoper, appeared in the original publication of Monster Manual II. The creature represented a statue of a roper, smaller in size than the original creature.

Ropers have evil alignment.
