Swords are bladed weapons made of iron, steel, or alloys with hilts and handguards produced for either slashing or piercing into a target. Standard issue by most armed forces, swords are the most basic, but also most reliable of standard melee weapons. Various types of swords exist, from double-edged, single-edged, and some with no edge.
