Charmay, Mistress of Magic, is a character in the media/merch related to the LJN toyline.
About[]
Charmay is a character created for the 1983 LJN toyline and related media/merch. Though Charmay didn't get an action figure.
Skylla vs Charmay[]
With the publication of The Shady Dragon Inn and Quest for the Heartstone, an illustration of Charmay was included instead of an illustration for Skylla. Illustrations of Skylla existed and were used on the packaging for the LJN miniature, the D&D Shrinky Dinks and the LJN Puffy Sticker. The inclusion of the Charmay Illustration in both D&D modules was probably an oversite or mistake.
In the The Wild Beyond the Witchlight adventure, the mistake was explained away as Charmay being the alter ego of the evil Skylla. This storyline is continued in Idle Champions and other recent media/merchandise.
But in the 1983-1984 media, the characters were distinctly different people. In the Quest for the Heartstone, Warduke, Kelek, Raven, Zargash and Skylla were all turned evil as the Heartstone revealed their evil nature to them. In her coloring book appearances, Charmay faces off against several of the villains. But if turned evil, Charmay wouldn't exist at the same time as the villains.
