Bullywugs are characters in the 1983 Dungeons & Dragons cartoon series.
About[]
Bullywugs are a race of minions who work for Venger and/or Warduke.
Bullywugs are a primitive race of frog-like humanoids found throughout the bogs and marshes of The Realm, the self-proclaimed lords of the swamp. The cartoon version of the Bullwugs have a turtle-like shell on their backs. Savage and self-destructive, the bullywugs regularly tampered with forces beyond their understanding, threatening the safety of others and their own brutish, noisome, and wet lives. This is evidenced in the episode, The Box.
Idle Champions[]
In Idle Champions, there's a mission called Bullywug Brawl, under The Bandit's Harvest (D'hani), where every level has endless amounts of Bullywugs that must be defeated, and none of them count towards the number of enemies to be defeated to proceed to the next level. The Bullywugs come in two varieties, Bullwug and Bullywug Spear Thrower. The Bullywug Brawl level also includes Large Warty Toads.
Uni and the Hunt for the Lost Horn[]
The Uni and the Hunt for the Lost Horn 2024 adventure, that introduced the 2024 version of the D&D Players' Handbook, features a Bullywug Warrior and a Bullwug Bog Sage in the list of creatures.
Magic the Gathering[]
While a couple websites have several Bullywug custom cards, to-date in 2024, there are no official Bullywug Magic the Gathering cards. Though Bullywugs are seen in the Primal Vigor card in the Secret Lair - Saturday Morning D&D - MTG Cards series.
The Burrog Befuddler creature card in the Strixhaven: School of Mages (2021) set might be a bullywug.
Honor Among Thieves[]
Gwinn, the new wife of Marlamin, mentions squashing a pack of Bullwugs, as she intrupts the conversation between Holga Kilgore and Marlamin.
