Description::A small yellow catlike creature sits against a tree. It looks like it's asleep, but you still get the feeling of being watched.

Abras are peaceful and timid creatures. They have powerful minds and are able to craft wondrous dreamscapes for themselves, and often sleep for upwards of 18 hours a day in order to enjoy them. Abras appear similar to bipedal cats with three digits on the end of each limb. Their body is covered in what appears to be yellow or orange chitonous armor – but in reality the shiny and rigid outer layer of an Abra is brittle and serves no protective function at all.

Abras usually see no use in the physical world, and feel very vulnerable to physical threats. As a result, an Abra will attempt to flee from almost anything it encounters. Abras are very pessimistic, and usually regard the input of other creatures as less interesting than the elaborate worlds they live in with their minds.

Abras can sense the presence of others, even while sleeping, and almost always respond by teleporting to an unoccupied location.


Psionics (Sp): At will – mirror image, blink (self only), greater teleport (self and 50 lbs. of equipment only). Caster (or manifester) level equals hit dice plus two. Save DCs are 10 + Int Modifier + Spell level.

The sample Abra has a save DC of 12 + spell level for its psionics.

Sleep Talk (Ex): An Abra is able to keep a portion of its mind active at all times. Even when asleep, an Abra is still able to utilize its detect thoughts ability. Furthermore, it rolls initiative normally, and can use all of its psionics while sleeping.

Detect Thoughts (Su): An Abra constantly scans the area around itself looking for the thoughts and dreams of others. The Abra detects thoughts as the spell, except that it does not need to concentrate and always gains the information as if it had spent 3 rounds concentrating on any particular creature, and the area is a 60 ft. emanation from the Abra in all directions. Save DC is 12 + Charisma Modifier.

The sample Abra has a DC of 16 for Detect Thoughts.

Telepathy (Su): An Abra can communicate telepathically with any creature within 100 ft. of it which has a language. Abras rarely do so for fear of drawing attention to themselves.

Uncanny Dodge (Ex):: An Abra has the ability to react to danger before its senses would normally allow it to do so. An Abra retains its Dexterity bonus to AC regardless of being caught flat-footed, struck by an invisible attacker, or asleep.
